#kevinstrong There is not doubt that 2020 has been a tough year for many. I would like to take the opportunity to share with you a story that has been weighing on my heart. Many of you may know Kevin, some may not. But his fight, his story should teach us all that life changes within the blink of an eye... Usually our busy days pass by, which turns into weeks, months, and then years and before we realize it - things are completely different. On March 6, 2020 Kevin’s life changed, the lives of his family and friends were changed forever. Please watch and listen to the story of Kevin Ferrell and know that this could happen to any of us, our family, our friends ... at anytime. As his fight continues...please pray for his girls, Sydney and Marley , their mother, Tanya Pettit, her friends and family that have been there every step of the way. And please say a prayer for Kevin as his battle continues.  In Sydney’s words, It was a Friday evening in March, I changed plans, my sister and I decided to go by my dads and meet him for dinner, and spend a little time with him. God knew exactly why... dad began having chest pains after dinner, and things did not seem right, I decided to drive him to Atrium Waxhaw ER. The pain was getting extremely bad during the ride up, I have never seen my dad in so much pain. Very few minutes had passed since we arrived and he expressed something was stepping on his chest. This is when he had his massive heart attack. Gods timing lined up for us to make it to the ER in just enough time ... He was flown to Atrium Health Pineville where they immediately did a heart cath and placed a stent. Dad was recovering well, when things took a turn for the worst. Dad suffered a severe stroke on the following Tuesday night, and another on that Friday. The doctors basically said that my dad would have no quality of life, would not be able to walk, talk or swallow, we were advised to decide on a DNR ....but then God stepped in and took over, once more. That Saturday when I went to visit, dad had taken a turn, and this time for THE BEST, yes THE BEST. My heart dropped to the floor hearing him talk Saturday. He began speaking, drinking and eating. He proved those doctors wrong... GOD had proven those doctors wrong... Surviving 3 heart attacks and 5 strokes ... One month and 3 days after that Friday evening - Kevin, a true miracle, walked out of that rehabilitation hospital, a day doctors told said would never happen, happened! Recovering from that day forward was slow but seemed to be steady. With doctor’s appointments, tests, exams, imaging, and monitoring Life had changed. Life was now scheduled around appointments. medication pick ups, physical therapy, and all of the many needs that come along with caring for the aftermath and effects of a severe stroke, and a damaged heart. With two precious teenagers, now watching their dad, a strong self sufficient, very involved father, that loved cooking, fishing, yard work, playing music, and beach trips become a weak, frail, daddy that needed care 24/7. With no hesitation, the girls, Tanya, along with friends and family came together and made sure that all of Kevin’s needs were met. Never wavering, standing strong for Kevin, while their hearts were crumbling on the inside With every peak, there is a valley... Through the many medical issues that came along with this now weak body, Kevin has now had to have a below the knee amputation of his left leg. He now is in another rehabilitation center to learn how to live life after an amputation of a limb. As Kevin’s family are preparing themselves for caring for Kevin’s every need, and this huge set back and yet another major adjustment of their new normal ... Along with the many, many hurdles that have been cleared they prepare themselves for yet another devastating circumstance. They are weak Lord, they are humbled by your gracious mercy. Your many miracles, the great healer, the Almighty Physician. I pray for peace, for guidance, and your everlasting love always be known to this family. I pray Lord that you wrap your loving arms around this family, that they feel every prayer that is being spoken to you, for all of them. As I sit here, I have asked myself, what can I do for this family? How can you use me Lord to lighten their load? To relieve them them from any of the daily stresses that they feel daily. Emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially this family is hurting. I asked that friends and family please come together and relieve some of the financial burdens that they are facing. If you able to contribute any amount I know that this would be greatly appreciated. We are our brothers keeper. Please continue to pray for this family without ceasing. *I will also be attaching •cash app information, •Venmo info, if you would like to give. **If you need an address for mailing purposes please send me a private message and I will get that information to you. Thank you so much family and friends. All prayers are appreciated more than you could ever know. May God Bless You All! ❤️#kevinstrong
