I was forced to medically retire, from the United States Army, in August of 2007, after a 27-year career. I sustained an injury that required multiple surgeries, and finally a replacement hip, My lungs are compromised due to exposure to unknown compounds, in Iraq, that also caused systemic damage to my nerves that means I am always in pain. I deal with the effects of depression, and a dissociative disorder. None of this is a complaint; merely explanatory background, on why I cannot do this without help, I'm blessed to be in one piece, and returned to my wife, and 2 small children. My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, 4 years ago. The initial medical costs drained our reserves, and each successive year, we have reached our cataclysmic cap by May. We owe several different hospitals for treatment of not just the diabetes but a broken foot, and severe concussion that she incurred two years ago. Our medical bills are in and out of collections. Cheryl went back to school and is now a Veterinary Technician but we are making no forward progress, financially. I am unable to work but can no longer afford to be too proud to ask for help. Please consider giving us a hand. Thank-You.Mark FeltonUnited States Army (Retired)
