Please help bring our Carolyn back!
Her story: Headaches…we all get them; most of the time ignoring them as best we can. And for the most part we go about our day and muddle through. Well, so did our Carolyn, until something inside her told her to check with her doctor. No big deal they thought, but just to be on the safe side they decided to do a cat scan. It was this past fall.
Carolyn is not a complainer or a crybaby; a math teacher over 15 years, she simply went about her regular schedule at school, here on Long Island, New York. Now she is not just any teacher. Carolyn is one of the ones who shows up everyday ready to be there for her kids and who actually LOVES to help kids learn and care about math. She didn’t let a headache keep her home; she had too much material to cover and the kids always missed her when she was out.
A few days later, she was called to the main office. BAM! She had to be taken to the hospital immediately. She had suffered a brain aneurysm. She knew then where those headaches were coming from.
Now, most of us would cry, get angry, break down, fall apart, but not Carolyn. She kept it together for herself, her husband Ken, her children, granddaughter, and all of us, family and friends. Specialists tried the procedure called the corkscrew twice but to no avail. It had to be brain surgery. Optimistic, she planned to be back to work the following week… It was NOT TO BE!
We are heartbroken! It was NOT OK! After numerous complications, brain swelling, a stroke, and constant other procedures to save her life over months, she is in need of so much medical help and therapy. Her brain has suffered so much, she can’t function normally or remember things so she can never be left alone. The list just goes on and on.
Money is pouring out! She stopped receiving her salary. Insurance is tapped out. Never complaining and ever SUPPORTIVE, Carolyn’s husband Ken is working three jobs! It is just still not enough. Please help Carolyn!
