Education for all

For the whole month of August, The Underbelly Hours  team is raising money and awareness for two very special organizations: the Dupage County Branch of the NAACP, and Enchanted Backpack.

Why these two organizations in particular? Because they work tirelessly to create better educated communities. In these days, with everything going virtual and online, providing our communities with resources is more important than ever.

The Dupage Branch of the NAACP  has 20+  volunteer led, multi-racial, active committees. Among these include educating people on how to register to vote, working to treat problems caused by redlining,  and giving young people in difficult circumstances scholarships to pursue higher education.

Enchanted Backpack  starts changing community members at an even younger age, serving under-resourced elementary and middle schools in Chicagoland. They provide truckloads of school supplies, sponsor teacher appreciation programs, after school activities and more.

Now it may seem weird for a goofy, music-centered radio show/podcast to be raising money for education iniatives, but those who listen to us know that our Chicagoland community is always at the HEART of everything we do!

Creating common ground through music is what we know best; in these uncertain times, we wanted to take it one step further.  We will be raising money online and also in person, through acoustic pop up shows with musicians across the Chicago suburbs.

All proceeds raised will benefit Dupage Unit of the NAACP and Enchanted Backpack. Tips collected online and in person until August 31st.

If you prefer to donate in person, please read through the information below and visit us when we drive through a Chicago suburb near you!
