Andrew's Funeral Expenses

I am Amanda, Andrew's oldest sister. It's hard to even begin with why we are asking for help because we still have so little answers at this moment. For those who don't know us, we are a military family who had gotten custody of my little brother Andrew almost 3 years ago. 

I guess I will start by explaining a little about who Andrew was. He was a very loving, caring, and independent young man. He was very selfless, always sacrificing his time and what he had for his friends and family when they were in need. He had a variety of talents and interests with spray paint art, fishing, fixing cars, building rockets, gardening, paintballing, and so much more. He was a very hard worker and worked hard for everything he had. He always wanted to do things for himself instead of someone else taking care of it for him. He was very goal oriented with wanting to graduate high school by his 17th birthday, which is July 20th, and was only 5 classes away from completing this goal. He had also been working a full time job to save money to pay for his own flight lessons to get his pilot license and to go to school after graduation to become a commercial pilot.

As his family is concerned, this is a very hard loss with Andrew being 16 and brutally murdered. We try to ignore the news and comments because we know they don't have all the information, but we also know we don't either. The people who did this to him knew the risks of their lives by following through with their actions. Andrew never got the choice to have a future or not, and it was not a quick death. To even think there are people this disturbed to have done such a thing to a 16 year old or any person makes us sick. We can't explain too much into this as it is still an ongoing investigation.

We are hoping that despite knowing there are these types of people in the world, that there are many more who do value human life and the right for a future. We are asking for help to cover Andrew's funeral expenses due to starting the process of him being our dependent in the miltary, and then finding out that becasue we did not adopt him and him not being our actual child that they will not cover anything for him. Our current total expenses is about $9,500, and we were able to get together a portion of that, but we are cominng to the end of our options to paying the remaining expenses.

Anyone who can help is greatly appreciated and will be such a huge blessing to our family. We have been trying to be strong and get through this, but sometimes there comes certain circumstances when the help of others is needed. Tis hapens to be one of these monets for us and we are just reaching out to find some guardian angels and blessings that can contribute to the expenses and be part of laying my baby brother to rest.
