Jacob's Recovery

Hello Everyone! As some now know, my brother Jacob was in an accident on his bike this past weekend. He was riding home from Kelowna to Kamloops and passed out while riding his bike on the highway due to dehydration and the heat. He was immedietly cared for my paramedics, stabilized, and taken to the hospital where the team took awesome care of him from start to present. Everyone was shocked how well he was doing, considering the state of his bike. He is a smart young man and wears full riding gear with back supports. He drifted into the grass median ditch, launched into a superman pose and into a hillside, nearly missing a sign and a cement baracade - God truly blessed him with the best of the worst situation. Other than bumps, bruises, and scrapes - his head, neck, and spine were cleared of damage, leaving a dislocated and fractured hip. The police officer at the scene explained to us how horrible the scnece was, and that without Jacob's gear he would not be here with us today. Infact, if Jacob was in a car... he would have been in worst shape. His gear saved his life! He is an amazing young man with a heart full of faith. He is also not only my brother - but my best friend. I have created this page because though he has survived the accident - he dislocated and fractured his hip which will require surgery and a long recovery time. He is now unable to work and will need alot of help in order to do everyday things for the next little while as well he will also require rehab and physio. He is currently in good spirits and is looking forward to moving on with life and learning from this experience. He is a true advocate for how important wearing full gear is - even in the summer time - and from now on will be sure to stay much more hydrated. "If it's too hot to wear full gear, it's too hot to ride." My brother is a selfless man who has a huge heart for everyone - helping everyone whenever and however he is able and now he needs our help! Every dollar counts - Thank you so much for everyone's continued love and prayers. Jacob is in surgery as I am writing this and will be in the hospital for the next couple days. We will update as we are able. Thank you again. <3
