Hi,
My name is Joel, I live in Davenport, Iowa with my rescue beagle, Stretch... My children are grown and on their own. So it is just my dog and myself in a modest 1 bedroom apartment...no frills, no cable tv, no xbox or anything like that, I am just thankful that I have a clean nice apartment. I am ,56 years old, and I have always worked for what I needed or wanted.
Recently, I have however fallen on some particularly difficult times, I am living day to day, as I am unemployed.
I had a good paying job with the Government, but through a series of bad circumstances, I am now again unemployed and having real difficulty in finding work. I know I have been more than diligent in seeking employement, it is my full time job everyday....just not any luck yet.
I was really fearful of doing this gofundme thing, I started and stopped this post numerous times...I just kept thinking "this is for people like the familys and wounded folks in orlando, or someone who lost it all in an tornado or fire......I have cried reading their stories, but always felt heartened that people were willing to help.....it was always so obviously pure love and generiosity of America's people,,,So as I prayed today, I felt led to go ahead and try and leave it to GOD and people to decide....
This is my story: I am broke, no money coming in, no where to get it. I was homeless. living in an RV for 1.5 years, I am getting fearful that it might happen again...
I have always "made do" with what I have had and been grateful for it....but you can't give what you don't have...
I am here asking for $850, enough to pay my rent 1 month and gas and electric...My rent is due today so I guess the need is somewhat urgent...it is..I am asking just for one month, but If I were to be fortunate enough to get a couple months rent and utilities, I would definitely be very humbled and greatful....beyond words...
So now I leave it to you, to our Father in heaven, and the good people of this country and others, GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
