My moms cancer medical treatment
Donation protected

This is my mom and I volunteering for a diaper drive through Numerica.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer which was very aggressive and she had to have a double mastectomy immediately. She is a strong and caring woman who would do anything for anyone. She was told by the doctors that the cancer was gone and was in remission for 10 years!!! Amazing right? Well about 2 years ago she was feeling really weak and could barely walk up the stairs without getting winded and had no energy. She went to the hospital for some tests and low and behold the cancer had returned. This time in her bone marrow. She now has to have chemotherapy every 3 weeks for the rest of her life and has developed respiratory problems and has asthma as well. Her insurance has been a blessing but was recently hit with a medical bill that wasn't covered by insurance and had to take out a personal loan out for over $5000 to pay it back. She also can't manage to take care of the outside of her home and is trying to fix it up so she can sell it and get into a condo or some affordable living without yard work or stairs. She still works full time but it is taking its toll on her physically, mentally and emotionally. Even through all of this she still continues to volunteer and give back to the community through events such as Toms Turkey drive which gives meals to families that can't afford them for Thanksgiving and diaper drives to give them to women who can't afford to provide them for their children, just to name a few. She recently told me she wouldn't think of taking any sort of charity because she doesn't feel like she deserves it. It breaks my heart to see her give so much and can't seem to catch a break or feel that she is deserving of kind gestures or generosity . I would also like to take her on a vacation while her health is still good enough to travel since we have never gotten the opportunity to take one together. She has no idea I'm setting this up for her but know it will mean the world to her to see how many people care. Let's show her that good things come to good people. I know we all have our own trials and tribulations but anything you can give would mean the world to us. If you can't donate please share this page and share her story. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and helping my mom.
