Help Us Stay Together: Immigration Fees

My mom has a 100 percent of our custody and she is the only adult at our home and our biggest supporter! We need her with us. Me and my little sister have very good grades. We need our mom to keep helping us to do our best. She is in the US with a Visa U and this December the visa -U would expire. She needs to pay for her attorney and she has been accumulating some other expenses that she isn’t able to cover now, with so little work and so much illness. We aren’t asking for Christmas gifts like any other kids, We are asking for your help in keeping us together. To do this I am trying to raise $7, 500. Hi, my name is Steven and my sister’s name is Camilla. We live in a wonderful town in Northern California. For both of us, 2020 started pretty well until we faced Covid-19. We know that has been a big problem for everyone, this is how it hit us: Sadly this virus attacked my mom very badly. When the virus started impacting our community, my mom and us, as a small family (2 children and my mom), followed every single cleaning step trying to avoid getting it. But sadly, one day my mom felt herself short of breath and really not well. She did not do well with the virus. It was very bad for her since she has asthma and her health was compromised. My mom is everything for us and we were there for her while she was passing through that horrible sickness. Then my little sister caught Covid-19, and then me too. With God, and each other, my little sister and I got through very successfully, but not my mom. She got Covid-19 for the second time, she caught pneumonia and she went to the hospital several times, even overnight, for certain periods. Through all of these months many people helped us to get through. Friends and neighbors, even our teachers and principals, did things for us like bringing us some delicious food and grocery shopping (even including special treats!). We are so thankful for that. I know our community helped because my mom is an amazing person and always was a volunteer in our community and in our schools, like a strong Latina mom leader. She was part of the Promotoras, member from the Blue Ribbon Coalition and part of the Equal Voice in Marin. She even coached an Odyssey of the Mind team - because she believes in learning and creativity and helping our community. My mom is very proud. But now we are here asking for help. My mom’s health is still a struggle a with Covid-19. Sadly, with all these problems, my mom wasn’t able to come together with money to pay for her next step on her legal status. She is worried and so am I and my sister. Please help us to stay together. Thank you for reading this and any support would be amazing!
