This fundraiser is for Billiey (Alicia) and Tim Garcia. As those of you that know them know, Billiey and Tim have two boys, Reed and Max, and they were expecting their third, Oliver to make his arrival in March. However on December 11th Billiey went in for a routine checkup and an ultrasound. They were able to find a heartbeat but it was very low... only 78 at its highest and the lowest it should be is about 110. Billiey was instructed to go directly to the hospital where shortly after she was rushed in for an emergency C-Section. Billiey physically is doing fine but emotionally this is terrifying. Oliver was born at only 26 weeks, 2 lbs 3 oz and only 14 inches long. He was flown by helicopter to the nicu at Iowa City to receive better care. That’s an hour away from where they live so needing to stay in Iowa city and/or commute is going to add a lot of expenses to a family with only one car and one income. They will need help with gas, food, boarding their dogs and childcare. Anything you can donate will help. Oliver has a long road ahead of him, he’s a little fighter already trying to breath on his own, he’s only relying about 30-40% on the ventilator. He had to have a blood transfusion overnight and has been getting medicine to help develop his lungs further.
