Every day this February, I’m running 5K for 28 days to support Candlelighters, a charity that stands beside children with cancer and the families who love them. I’m doing this in memory of my brother‑in‑law, Joe Swales, who was diagnosed at just 10 years old and whose strength, spirit, and resilience inspired everyone around him. Candlelighters supported Joe and his family through the hardest moments, and this challenge is a way to honour both their care and Joe’s incredible life. Joe sadly passed away on 27 June 2025, at the age of 34, but his courage lives on in all who knew him. With every mile, I’m running for Joe, for every child fighting cancer, and for the hope that Candlelighters brings to families when they need it most
