Tyler Lutz and his battle with Lymphoma

Doação protegida
Oh my gosh- we are so overwhelmed with how thoughtful and generous everyone is! I raised the goal for Tyler and appreciate everyone single one of you! THANK YOU from all of us. Especially Tyler! ♥️ wow! I am posting this on behalf of my 13 year old nephew, Tyler Lutz and his recent diagnosis with stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Tyler is an amazing child that is currently enrolled in the 8th grade at James A Garfield Middle School in Garrettsville where he is on the honor roll and a straight A student. Tyler is involved in football, basketball and a first baseman for baseball. His parents are my brother, Matt, and his wife Michelle with his big sister Caitlin who is currently a junior at James A Garfield High School. The whole family is very involved with the school district as Michelle would work as a school nurse and Matt would volunteer numerous years as the football and baseball coach for Tyler. It was the start of basketball season in October that they noticed a lump in his neck and he was very fatigued. They immediately got him into the doctor and he was treated with antibiotics and told to rest. When that did not seem to remedy the condition, they went back for further testing, had a CAT scan and more bloodwork was completed. After meeting with an oncologist and infectious disease doctor, they had feared that it may be cancer. On November 25, the night before Thanksgiving, they received a call no parent wants to ever get- Tyler was diagnosed with cancer. And although the prognosis is not as bleak after finding out December 10th that it is not in his bones, his journey is far from over. He will have numerous months of chemotherapy, doctors visits and more testing. And doing all of this during Covid will make this even harder. Tyler had his bone marrow tested and his Port surgically put in on December 7 and ready to start his uphill battle fighting cancer. He has a long road to go with months of chemo, hospital stays, missing his friends, sport’s and keeping up with school work but he is determined to beat this. At 13, no one could anticipate fighting for your life and that’s what he is faced with. And he can’t do it alone. He needs his parents by his side and with so much time needed for their son and missing work, medical bills and travel expenses- they need our help. If you can donate in any way, they would be forever grateful. No one can anticipate having your only son being diagnosed with cancer two weeks before Christmas. Any little bit will help this family be able to support their son during this time. THANK YOU in advance for helping in any way possible.
