SAVE FRANKIE

Hi, my name is Frankie. I am the best and sweetest girl. I am only 10 weeks old, but I have had a pretty rough life. I was rescued about 5 weeks ago from a tough area on the Blackfoot Reservation. I was in bad shape. I had a lot of open wounds. My jaw was broken in several places. It looked like my fur had been burned. But, I was a good and brave girl. I went to a small vet clinic for a few weeks in Browning, MT waiting for a surgery that never happened. Then I was released to Freckles and Tomcat Rescue and went to stay with a foster mom in Libby, MT. My foster knew right away that something wasn’t right. My mouth smelled so bad. So, I went to see another vet. He put me on more antibiotics but wanted me to go to a big veterinary hospital. So, my foster mom drove me an hour and a half to another state(Idaho!) where I met another vet. I got to spend a lot of time with my foster mom that day so I was happy! Well, guess what? That vet found a lot of yucky nasty infection still in my jaw so they gave me 2 more kinds of antibiotics. And they said I needed to see an oral specialist. That specialist was in another state (Washington!) Luckily we were able to do a phone consult and didn’t have to go to Washington. Yet. The oral specialist wanted me to get something called a cat scan and have a surgeon on hand to put in a micro plate in my jaw depending on what the cat scan shows. I guess there are so many breaks in the back of my jaw that when the infection heals and my bones mend I won’t be able to open my mouth anymore. The new surgeon is now saying that a micro plate can not be put in because there are so many little pieces of my jaw causing infection. I still need a cat scan and then all the little pieces of my broken jaw need to be removed to save me. These procedures are going to cost a lot of money, but will be done at a great place called WSU. I am still being such a good and brave girl, but I am ready to be well and start my forever life. Can you please help me? Love, Frankie
