I am an Armenian living in the United States. As a result of imposed war on my homeland Armenia/Artsakh 100,000 Armenians were driven from their homes and have become destitute refuges. Over 5000 soldiers and civilians have been killed and thousand more have been injured, maimed, burnt. Hospitals are over capacity. Being a mountainous country, winters are brutal. People are in need of medicine, food, clothing, shelter, heat.
A close friend of mine who lives in Armenia along with 9 other friends, have identified countless families of injured soldiers and families who have lost their breadwinner and/or driven from their homes and are assisting them either by giving them cash or food, clothes and other necessities.
This group's work is transparent. Through use of pictures, videos they post every encounter with the families and show the money, items distributed. They post their activities on Facebook on regular basis.
The need is SO GREAT. True, there are large organization that also help, but they are in place for massive projects as building temporary housing and rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure. Many families are in need of IMMEDIATE help. This group is already working for a month. The war started on Sept. 27 - Nov 9 (44 days of hell).
I have already transferred personal funds to the group. I use XOOM to transfer money.
My intention is to contact every contributor and show how the funds they donated was used.
Along with the option to give to GoFundMe, I will include the names of three other charity organizations, that way people will have a choice The money raised through GoFundMe will reach the people in need within one week and I will know who the recipients are.
