Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read this. On Tuesday, March 31, our father was detained and taken by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to help with legal fees. Some of you may have seen my painting, “The New American Gothic,” and are aware that my parents are the subjects. My father has lived in the United States for 40 years and has always provided for our family. He is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and the hardest working person I know. He has spent all of his adulthood building a life for himself and his family, working tirelessly to ensure that his children would have a good life as American citizens.

We are equal parts devastated and terrified. If possible, please consider supporting our family’s efforts to cover fees related to his case, and the day-to-day expenses that his wages would normally have covered. Any amount, or even sharing this message, means more to us than words can express.
