Lacey's Spinal Recovery Fund

Hey Now! As most of you know, our loving sister Lacey Leigh Yarbrough had emergency neck and back surgery this week at Washington Regional. She came over to The Farm on Wednesday to help me clean my house. She had worked all day and was fine aside from some sinus pressure. The following day Lacey went to clean an Airbnb in town. About mid day she started feeling a tingling sensation down the backs of her legs. Within minutes she was in MAJOR pain and paralyzed from the waist down. She was fine one minute and the next minute she was in agony. She laid on the floor in agony but was finally able to reach her phone. Tony Corbin, thank you for saving her. She went to Eureka Hospital and they misdiagnosed her with low sodium and potassium and sent her home. After a little research by Habooki and a few conversations, Habooki took Lacey to Washington Regional where they took her into MRI & CT scans immediately. Scans showed a birth defect in the C4 vertibre and bone spurs on C4 & C5 vertibre. They also discovered a condition called cauda equina. Cauda equina syndrome is a rare disorder that usually is a surgical emergency. In patients with cauda equina syndrome, something compresses on the spinal nerve roots. You need fast treatment to prevent lasting damage leading to possibly permanent paralysis of the legs and in Lacey's case it could have meant far worse than that. (I can't bear to say the words but I'm so grateful she is safe)
She has had two surgeries that went very well this week. Her pain has been off the charts. She has been alone for 99% of the time due to Covid. Luckily they did let me see her yesterday. She could not move at all. She was in more pain than I've just about see anyone handle. I did not leave her side until she got some relief. Her legs were still not moving. So imagine my surprise when I get a video chat from her this morning and she was smiling and sitting in a CHAIR! She has turned a corner. She is regaining use of her legs and feet! Odds were not in her favor but she was determined! She was being moved to the Physical Therapy center this afternoon and will remain there for an undetermined amount of time. She still potentially has one more surgery but they wanted to give her body and system a break before doing so.

She has been so incredibly strong through all of this. She has kept a positive attitude and I admire her strength and grace through this crazy ordeal. I love her more than words can ever say. And I know many of you love her too!
My goal with this GoFundMe is to raise enough money so that Lacey doesn't have to worry about her bills for a few months while she goes to physical therapy rehab to recover from this traumatic event. I would also like to cover any medical bills she may accumulate. She does have insurance but it will not cover the full amount she will need for her PT we just found out today. I want to thank you all that have reached out and shown Lacey love and support. I've been relaying messages and she's been able to read and respond to a few as well. Your love and friendship means more to her than you will ever know. Thank you in advance for all of your donations and shares as well. I appreciate all of you. Let's lift our sister up with the love directly from our hearts to hers! GO TEAM!
