Hey guys!
Beginning mid-July 2016, I will be going to Africa for 5 months to do research on the human right to health for LGBT people. Most of my research will be in Uganda and Rwanda however I will also be participating in the 2016 International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa. After that, I will be travelling overland from South Africa through Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya to Uganda where I will be studying for 3 months before I begin my independent research. As you know, Uganda has a very tortured relationship with LGBT rights and some of the research can be... risky.
My study abroad program will focus on Post-Conflict Transformation at the School for International Training.
Although my scholarship through FEA will pay for the bulk of my trip, I need help covering some necessary costs that are not included like VPN software, encrypted harddrives, visas, immunizations, local transportation, translator etc. I also need a small amount to pay for a dog walker for Bacon & Eggs while I'm away.
I'm really not big on asking for money, but I do need help to make this valuable research possible. I will be eternally grateful for your thoughts, prayers and contributions.
