She is dying because she needs the resources of an ECMO bed to allow the lungs to heal enough to get a transplant. "It's a mystery," the doctor told the family. Words such as fibrosis and scarring of the tissue were given - all of it shocking and none of it making sense. Alana does not have COVID, however, she is a victim of the circumstances of the pandemic because she needs the very same resources COVID patients need and they are all taken. Alana is feisty and would want the opportunity to fight for her life. She needs our prayers and our resources.
