Virtual Summer Fair
We have been fortunate enough to be able to invite our pupils back to school over the past 7 weeks. However, there have been many changes to our daily routines, and things we have been forced to miss out on. One of these was of course our annual Summer Fair.
We're sorry that we have been unable to offer the usual fun afternoon of inflatables, games, stalls, tombolas, and a grand prize draw this year. We missed how the school community always comes together to put on such a fun event, and raise so much money.
Last year the total was an amazing £10,500 which enabled us to upgrade the wall-mounted interactive learning screens throughout the school. We are sure that if the event were to have taken place, we would have raised a similar amount again.
Even without fundraising, the school still needs to purchase new items each year. This year, we would like to invest in 30 new ipads at a cost of £8000 and we ask our wonderful community to help us try to reach this target. The ipads will be an invaluable asset to our school at a time when we are seeking to extend and improve our use of IT to support and enhance our curriculum. This is especially important during these uncertain times with the possibility of more home learning in the futureand our introduction of Google Classroom across the school both in the classroom and at home.
We hope you will agree that during the COVID outbreak and subsequent lockdown, our school and the staff have been absolutely fantastic and supported parents/carers and children through these difficult and uncertain times. From daily homeschooling, including action packed timetables, online activities and fun, educational zoom sessions.
St Mary’s, supported as always by the PFA have set up this Go Fund Me page to allow parents and the wider community to donate to the school and show their appreciation.
We do understand that for some people COVID has been a time of increased hardship and will be unable to donate, we completely understand, but if you are able to donate it would be very much appreciated. Every penny counts towards improving the provisions for each and every child in our school.
THANK YOU
