Kenley's Medical Adventure
I have started this page to raise money for Sam and Cody to help with all of their upcoming travel needs for the rest of Sam's pregnancy, as well as after Kenley is born.
It started when Sam went in for her 20 week ultrasound. She was already being watched closely for her own previous health issues that could potentially cause problems. At this ultrasound, it was noted that Kenley's arms and legs were shorter than normal for her gestational age. This is a sign of some form of a bone disorder. There was also question about possible heart issues, her heart is tilted and a possible club foot. Most recently, it was noted that Kenley has edema on her head, thickened skin, possible anemia, and or a heart condition.
Sam was admitted to Abbott's Mother and Baby center on 6/2/16 to undergo additional testing. Today they discovered that Kenley may have a valve issue within her heart that could affect her breathing at birth. Because of this, they are wanting Sam to deliver there due to access to certain heart procedures if needed after birth. They also determined that Kenley will need a blood transfusion through her umbilical cord, this will be done tomorrow 6/4/16.
They are still waiting to determine if Kenley has some kind of genetic disorder that can correlate to all of her recent findings. They are also waiting to hear back from UCLA in regards to her possible bone dysplasia.
I'm hoping that with this page, we can raise money to help Sam and Cody with expenses. They will need to come to St.Cloud and to Abbott frequently for follow up until Kenley's birth. Gas to these places adds up quickly. It can also become very expensive for food and lodging if needed while going to these places for the day or overnight.
Any additional money raised will go towards possible traveling and living expenses after Kenley is born, with anticipation that she will require a possible extended hospital stay as well.
Every dollar counts. Prayers are appreciated. I will update this page as more things are being diagnosised or discovered.
Thanks!
Jes
