I decided to start a GoFund Me because so many people have asked how they can help. I have taken a leave of absence from work to be at Richard's bedside while he is in the ICU and for recovery.
I have been fortunate to have a good job and a great and understanding employer. However, staying in Sacramento and within close proximity of the hospital is costly. I have had generous offers of being hosted and I am very grateful - for me I need my own space after spending 8-10-12 hrs at the hospital everyday. I am going home to Chico at least once week to see my family and take care of my own business.
Currently I am staying at an AirBnb and I would like to do this for the rest of this month. Any contribution you make will go towards helping me do this.  Richard needs family at his bedside.  In the age of COVID he is only allowed 2 visitors and only one at a time.  I have been taking turns with his daughter, Christiana.  

Richard was in a single vehicle car accident. He was traveling at a high rate of speed and rolled his vehicle. He sustained major injuries to his neck and spine. He is currently at UC Davis in Sacramento. He had surgery to stabilize his spine. He has injuries to his C5,6,7 and his spinal column. He is on a ventilator and looking at needing a tracheotomy to help him breathe. Richard is facing life as a quadriplegic. He has a long road to recovery. He will be going to Rehab when he recovers from his infections and injuries. He will be in need of a wheelchair once he makes it to rehab. Funds will also be for his recovery needs.
