My name is Aliya Protto and I am a United States National Team Member in the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics. Currently, I am honored to be ranked #2 in the US! After years of hard work and struggle for me and my mom, I am getting closer to achieving my dreams. I have been selected to represent the USA internationally, with the goal to reach the 2016 Olympic Games.
With this privilege, comes great responsibility to work hard for myself, my family, and my country. My goal requires fierce determination, countless hours of intense training, and unfortunately, funding. As part of a little known sport, rhythmic gymnasts are responsible for financing their own training and travel, which costs tens of thousands of dollars each year.
As you may know, my single mom has sacrificed a lot for me, working nights as a 911 operator. On one income, she has financed the last ten years of my training by herself. But now with the added expenses of international travel, we need help! If you can spare anything, you can be an essential part of making my dream become a reality. All money received will be used specifically for my rhythmic gymnastics expenses. In return, I promise to dedicate myself to my sport and work to make you proud.
