For the past eight years I've been researching for and writing this historical fiction novel. It takes place between 1848 and 1851 and follows an Irish girl who is orphaned by the potato famine and makes her way to America. Her ship lands in Boston where she begins her journey of survival and self discovery.
This time period has always fascinated me - the industrial revolution, the social tension between various groups, and the political upheaval. I have had a lot of fun creating the main character, Rosaleen MacNamara, and the world she lives in. I hope you enjoy it as well! Thank you in advance for your support!
