UPDATED POST:
About 3 weeks ago, we created this GOFUNDME link (see the initial post in bold below) to ask friends and family members for financial support to help defray the cost of Funeral Home Services and the transportation of the remains of our nephew Yannick Fonkoua tragically killed in France back to Cameroon for burial

We are glad to report that, in spite COVID 19 hardship worldwide which slowed givings to timely meet our target goals,  we were able to reach an understanding for a "structured payment plan"  with the Funeral Home Lutèce International, Lyon, France.  That agreement allowed us to make a partial down payment and for Funeral Home Lutèce International to carryout a fast-track repatriation of the corpse of Yannick to Cameroon.

Consequently, with all legal and traveling formalities done by Funeral Home Lutece, the process started last Tuesday November 8th with cleaning and preparation of the corpse; and the removal and viewing from the Bellevue Houspitale Mortuary in St. Etienne, France on Saturday December 12th; with transportation to Paris CDG Airport for Air France checkin and storage.

Leaving on Monday December 24th, 2020 on Air France #983, the corpse of Yannick arrived Douala, Cameroon the same day at 8:37 pm,  exactly one month after his tragic passing. Yannick was given deserving welcome and a family burial took place on Saturday December 19, 2020 in his home village of Galim in the Western Province of Cameroon.

We continue to ask and will accept your kind financial support to enable us meet our commitment with Funeral Home Flutece  International, for the reasons noted. We agreed to an important terms-of-service, in a time of great distressed to the family with zero option,  which in the end resolved -- i.e., facilitated the repatriation of the corpse of our son home for burial.  For that and those supported the cause or are thinking to so, we are very thankful.

As the Court system in France undertakes to criminally right the wrong in this tragedy which took Yannick's life according to French laws, his mother, the family and friends everywhere in pain will and must navigates the difficult road from bereavement to closure.

We will relieve the hurt and pain but will NEVER forget Yannick.  It is this resolve to see an end-state that this family and friends will forever be indebted to everyone everywhere who not only prayed, and gave financial support but continue to do so, during this stressful and complex  process which brought Yannick back home for burial.

Our heartfelt appreciation and BIG thank you, indeed.
