Young Family Suffering Loss of Mother and Child

It is with a saddened and humbled heart I write this post. Please take the time to read it in its entirety.

On Thanksgiving our family attended the  viewing of the bodies of two beloved family members. There, I saw something I never anticipated in all of my years. In the casket laid a young mother (26 YO) and her near term baby side by side. Friday we paid our last respects at the burial.

On November 16th our cousin lost the love of his life and their unborn baby. Ariel Shaquia Lewis passed away at home with her two children under the age 5 years old present. The daughter called to say “I can’t wake mommy up!”

I cannot imagine how traumatizing  this is for his family. He is now a single father, mourning the loss of the love of his life, and an unborn daughter. He does not feel comfortable returning to the apartment where they lived, he has been off work since.

Humbled, because asking for help from the public is not easy for me. However I am putting that aside to ask you make a donation. 

My hopes are that the funds raised will provide a Merry Christmas for the children, ease the financial burden on our cousin to give him time get counseling without worrying about immediate income, assist with childcare (Ariel was a stay at home mother), help Dominic to secure a new place to live for the family.
