Les presentamos a Emma Isabel, esta bebita que nació en la Ciudad de Nueva York el 10 de Mayo del 2016.
Emma nació con hidrocefalia y una obstrucción en el esófago. La primera operación del esófago se la hicieron en El Monte Fiori Children Hospital de New York, y fue logrado con éxito pero aún Emma no puede tragar su alimento y está necesitando de terapia para que logre deglutir de manera natural y sin dificultad. Mientras tanto, está siendo alimentada por la nariz (alimentación naso-gástrica). El primero de junio fue operada de emergencia para la colocación de una válvula en el cerebro a fin de ayudar a drenar el exceso de líquido qué allí se encontraba y estaba alterando sus valores vitales, poniendo en riesgo su vida.
El Camino que hay que recorrer con Emma es de muchas exigencias y costoso. Su Madre, Elizabeth, es una madre luchadora, trabajadora, pero ahora limitada por el tiempo de entrega para su hija y pronto deberá ocuparse de sus labores para mantener a su bebita Emma. Madre e hija son Grandes guerreras, con deseos de vivir.
Emma necesita de nuestra ayuda, para que su mami pueda costear gastos medicos y terapeuticos lo más pronto posible.

Meet baby Emma Isabel, she was born in New York City on May 10th, 2016.
Emma was born with hydrocephalus and an obstruction in her esophagus. The first live-saving operation was done in Monte Fiori Children's Hospital in New York and it was a success! Emma, however still cannot swallow food and is in dire need of therapy so that she can learn how to chew and swallow in a natural manner and without great difficulty. In the meantime, she is being fed through a tube in her nose (nasogastric). Just this past June 1st she had to have emergency surgery to have a valve placed in her brain to drain the excess liquid that was there and was affecting vital functions, endangering her life even more.
The long road ahead for Emma is one that will require much medical attention, help and support from kind people such as you. Her mom, Elizabeth, is a fighter, much like Emma is! But she is limited in funds and all the time she has she devotes it to helping Emma live day by day! We need you!
