Brittany’s Cancer Fight

Brittany is 34 years old. She loves her friends, Disney, and most of all she loves her family and adores her nieces and nephews. She has the worlds best smile and her eyes light up when she does. She has survived and battled with Anxiety and Depression, Type 1 Diabetes, Kidney Failure, and a Kidney/Pancreas Transplant(Aug. 2020). She finally had her life back. She finally had hope of a pain free, illness free life. A life where she wasn’t constantly thinking about death. A life where she saw a future. Then came the Sepsis from an infection that formed near her transplanted Pancreas, she beat it. Then came the Epstein Barr Virus that was inactive in the Kidney when it was transplanted but became active from her not having an immune system. Which in turn caused bleeding Ulcers and then also Lymphoma. Within two days of finding the Lymphoma it had spread into every part of her body. She started chemo immediately and all the challenges that came along with it. Within two weeks she became confused, forgetful, was hallucinating, and her personality changed. The doctors said it was Chemobrain but it got increasingly worse. Her transplant doctor sent her directly to IMC and they found two tumors, one on each side of her brain. But she is fighting and we are fighting with her. They have begun a special kind of chemo for her brain and are also continuing the chemo for the Lymphoma throughout the rest of her body. She will beat this. We have been so worried about Brit we haven’t even thought of the costs of everything but the medical bills are getting too hard to ignore. We know it’s a hard time of year and many people don’t have much. If you can donate even one dollar we would be so so grateful. Even if it’s just as simple as sharing this post or your love and prayers we would be so so grateful. No matter what you can give we will accept with the most gratitude that we can give. It’s very unusual and uncomfortable for my family to ask for anything, let alone money, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love, support, and prayers now and throughout Brittany’s life.
