This Go Fund Me is to support Manny Perez. Manny is the son of Andres and Ileana Perez, brother of Andy Perez, husband to Colleen Perez, and father of Manny Jr. Manny is also a proud Correctional Officer at the Union County Jail. Manny Perez is a Leukemia survivor.  At the young age of twelve, Manny received radiation throughout his body to perform a bone marrow transplant. With radiation at such a young age to the head theirs the possibility of having side effects later in life.  About two weeks ago, Manny was having terrible headaches. Manny would wake up with his headaches and work to provide for his three-year-old son Manny Jr and wife Colleen. After having extreme headaches, we immediately took him to our family Doctor. The doctor advised us to take Manny to St. Barnabas Hospital and have them perform a CT Scan and MRI on Manny’s head. Upon reviewing the CT Scan and MRI, it was discovered that Manny had two masses growing in his head. One on the left side and one on the front. Surgery was performed on Wednesday, November 25. The surgery lasted approximately eight hours. The surgeons were able to remove the whole tumor from the left side of his head and informed us that the surgery was a success.  The other smaller size tumor will be removed later, pending the pathology reports’ outcome.  Manny could have to receive radiation treatment to avoid any other issues in the future. Manny is expected to be out of work for a few months. We are asking all family and friends to help Manny and his family during this time.
