Help Catherine, who suffered a broken back

Friends, Family & Horse Community! Catherine needs your help.

Catherine is a lifelong equestrian, a dedicated caretaker, a kind and knowledgeable trainer, and one of those people who will drop everything for a friend or animal in need, and has, many many times over. If ever there was a time for the community to help her, it's now.

On Monday, September 18th, her back was broken in three places. She mounted up for a routine session, and her horse began bucking, spinning, rearing. After much effort to calm her horse down, Catherine was thrown off and landed hard. Broke her back, hard.

She was transported from the ranch in Paige to a hospital in Austin by ambulance. That ride alone was more money than she had to pay. The hospital admitted her.

She is still in the hospital, looking at the possibility of surgery. We are working on getting her settled and understanding what is actually going on with her back and extreme pain levels.

Catherine owns and manages Cedar Creek Saddle Club, teaching lessons and caring for over 30 horses. That means 30 plus horses depend on her (and her small but mighty team). It also means her income depends on her ability to do hard physical work.

Currently, she is managing, from her hospital bed, a small team of supporters who have stepped in to care for the horses and barn work alongside her husband, Adam.

Between having to hire extra help to take care of the business and the unclear medical bills stacking up well over $30,000 at this point, pre-surgery, they need all the help we can give.
