Help me help nurses!

I've been a RN since 1990, and after 10 or so years of bedside nursing care, I worked my way through college and obtained a masters degree in nursing. This degree allowed me to merge my two passions (nursing and education). I can honestly say that I woke up every morning enthusiastically getting ready to pass on my knowledge to my nursing students. I taught nursing courses for twelve years, until my life turned upside down. I underwent what I assumed would be a routine total knee replacement (osteoarthritis)....it turned out quite differently. During my surgery, my knee became infected with a virulent MRSA infection. I went through 8 revision surgeries in 14 months before the right combination of antibiotics finally killed it...unfortunately it also took away my independence from crutches/wheelchair. My husband and 23-year love of my life, Kevin, who had seen me through my health nightmare, passed away suddenly on 1/22/17. It rocked my world, and I was left to figure out how to make a living. Because of my passion for education, I began tutoring aspiring nursing students and it was and still is AWESOME.
