To my family, friends, and even acquaintances…
This is unlike me to post anything of this nature but for my niece Madison, I certainly will. Madison’s family is in need of some help, as my niece has to undergo her third big surgery..
Let me share a little bit about Maddy ….
Madison was born with a rare spinal disorder called Klippel Feil Syndrome and also suffers from congenital scoliosis. Klippel Fiel Syndrome is a bone disorder characterized by the abnormal joining (fusion) of two or more spinal bones in the neck which limits Madison’s range of movement to the neck and spine. At the age of 12 months, she has been treated at Boston Children’s Hospital by Dr. Lawrence Karlin every four months.
Madison is now 8 years old, standing only at a whopping, 3 feet 8 inches tall . She has already undergone multiple spinal braces and two major surgeries and is now approaching her third... Without this surgery, Madison will not grow properly and can end up with neurological damage. The doctors predict roughly a six hour procedure to cut through the vertebrae bones that are fused together, move disks, and place roads into the bone to stabilize...
Despite her size, her spunk and sense of humor leaves her to be the most popular and smartest in her class! She is a little girl with a big heart & in my opinion, mature for her age. Madison enjoys the outdoors. Her parents are very causation with what activities she may want to tackle but try to not limit her being a kid. She has also been on a dance team for four years now & last year Disney invited them to perform! There was nothing stopping this little girl or so we thought. Madison has to quit the dance team this year per the doctor’s orders-To an 8 year old, this is devastating.
Please help me to support my niece become a kid again. With the cost current medical bills, my sister needs some help, as insurance does not cover it all. The funds I earn will immediately be used for Madison’s surgery to be schedule this month. We will forever be grateful & Madison will be too when she reads this!
It will be a long road to recovery for her and not the last surgery sadly, but Maddy’s courage and bravery throughout this, has been truly an inspiration to us all. Little girl- Big heart
We love you Madison!!!
