My friend, and neighbor, Deb Jones has recently had to face a horrible nightmare. Her daughter Bethany was admitted over 3 weeks ago into Stonybrook Hospital for a rare disorder called (AAG) Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy . This disorder leaves Bethany on a feeding tube , while waiting and praying for treatment to work. Deb has not been able to work (she currently works with our children at Dayton Avenue Elementary) to be by her daughter's side. Her husband Chris has been declared disabled, due to a severe back injury/surgery years ago, and does not work. He travels back and forth every day to see Bethany in addition to taking care of things at home. Their 15 year old daughter Mikayla attends ESM Junior Senior High School. Their 19 year old son Kyle, who has muscular dystrophy, depends on his father to help him with his daily activities that require his physical strength. Deb's mom helps out every chance that she gets. So many people have reached out by sending meals and monetary support, but so many others have asked me what they can do to help. Figured this would be a great place to start to compensate for Deb's lost wages, the traveling expenses such as gas and daily parking fees and the expense of
a possible relocation to Texas or Minnesota for Bethany to continue with treatment .
On behalf of Deb and her entire family "thank you for all of your help and support. It has been overwhelming and means the world to our family. We pray that Bethany comes home soon".
