Hello friends across the country, neighbors, and strangers.
My name is Heather and I am from Boston, MA. I meet new people on a daily basis. Sometimes you know that even after a simple conversation, you would become good friends. My friend Wendy, is one of those people.
Right now, Wendy is battling stage 4 cancer that has spread to her stomach and her lungs. Diagnosis has happened during the last few months. There is a need for treatment and costs along with it. She also has a beautiful, 3yr old daughter to care for.
Wendy and I met several years ago, and spent only about a year in the same area as each other. I had just started a new serving position at a fondue restaurant. Serving was an easy position to obtain as I traveled in life. It's a position I would recommend everyone trying at some point. To serve someone, you gain so much knowledge about people and what they need, and you have to sum up all the verbal and non verbal cues in about 30 seconds. This is a skill that Wendy has mastered. In our first few minutes of interaction, I knew she was an amazing person and we became fast friends. I think I had to train her on her first night, which was hilarious.
We went on working together for about a year, and during that time she always had my back in and out the workplace. She was always there to lend a helping hand when we all fell in the weeds. She is a team player and goes out of her way to help those that she loves. I have no doubt that is across the board in her life. She has always been a hospitality queen, giving to others in any way that she can.
I know she has friends from around the world, which is just fabulous. She is one of the brightest, most vibrant souls I know, and I bet you'd agree! I am so glad that you have been in her life. Here, in times of need, I ask that you donate to Wendy, because now we have your back. Wendy has brightened up so many lives, in so many ways. I would like to return the favor.
To those that do not know Wendy, I hope that I have enlightened you enough to share in the season of giving. This year has taught us that we all need each other, and lending a helping hand is never an easy thing to ask for, but such an easy thing to do.
