My loki is my best friend. He came to me at one of the loneliest times in my life. He helped me remember how to love, laugh, and smile. Unfortunately, Loki is suffering from a bi-lateral hip fracture and was recommended to either have a full hip replacement or to have his ball-joints in his hips removed to live life comfortably. This is a rare condition the Vet believes he may have been predisposed to, as he is part Maine Coon, and Maine Coons are susceptible to this. I am a graduate student and am extremely low on funds, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to make Loki comfortable and healthy.  The cost of the hip replacement is upwards of $12,000, but removing the ball joints where the fracture is, is estimated to be around $8000.
