My name is Billy Tomlinson and I am a cyclists and judge from Richmond Hill. I started this page after Andy Morar, Lyon Jemison and I decided we wanted to help raise money for our friend John Skiljan’s insurance deductibles and cancer treatment. Once we hit our goal the money will be given to John and his family in certified funds from Navy Federal. Now for a little about John’s story ......................... John Skiljan has recently be diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in the lymph nodes. It was caught fairly early and he’s optimistic of a full recovery, but only after a long road of treatment and therapy. Many of you know John as the owner of the Bicycle Link bicycle shop which was in business from the nineties through 2016. Through those years he has helped countless bike riders, triathletes, employees and supported the cycling community in many ways. John also generously donates time to the AMBUCS organization by assembling and fitting special needs individuals to Trykes for therapy and mobility. Others of you know him through his faith, his big heart and his willingness to help in any way he can. John has great emotional support from his wife Aimee and his children Chloe and Robbie, but will be facing several weeks of radiation treatment and chemotherapy. To slow the spread, he’s recently had one of his tonsils removed. All of this, as you can imagine incurs large medical bills, meeting deductibles and being unable to work during much of the treatment.
