Christy Griffin was recently diagnosed with Stage4, non-Hodgkins Lymphoma-Leukemia, a tough, but curable form of cancer. At this time Christy is under weight, having kindey issues, and suffering through the pain of a bone marrow biopsy. She will begin chemotherapy in the next two weeks and will likely have at least 6-9 months of treatment, given her stage in this fight.
Christy is a single mother of Connor (age 13) and Reagan (age 9). She is a fun mom who strives to ensure her children have all they need and more. Although she struggled with addiction issues for several years in her early adult life, she found sobriety in 2008 and has worked hard to make a comfortable, stable and healthy life for her family. Christy graduated from Lone Star Community College, with an Associates of Applied Science - Health and Human Services, just one week before finding out she was sick. While she worked very hard to achieve this goal, there were plenty of struggles and self-doubt that she would get there. She made it accross the stage, with her family cheering her on.
Having been laid off she was actively pursuing a new job, with school finally behind her. During the first week of interviews, she became very ill, fainting, fever and she couldn't get out of bed due to extreme fatigue. She made a decision to go to the hospital, which led to her being admitted, an unexpected week of IV's, blood tests and biopsies. Coming out of the hospital with the not so great news, she's still faced with everyday life, bills and responisbilities. As well, the lease on her house is ending, leaving her in a position to find more fesible living arrangements given her medical situation.
We ask your help through this tough time. We pray for peace for a family whose mother is suffering through a new battle. We pray for a mother who has worked very hard to overcome numerous challenges in life. We put our faith in God that she will be carried through the hardships of this difficult illness, with family, friends and others supporting her in all ways possible.
At this time, donations will be used for moving and living expenses as Christy is unable to work and will be undergoing treatment.
