Meghan Rae’s road ahead

Meghan Rae has had chronic lung disease since she was 5 and they can’t figure out what causes it. She’s had many bronchoscopes and had her right middle lobe removed. Tuesday she started getting really short of breath. We got to the ER around 11pm. By the next day she was intubated and ECMO was started. Hershey is transferring her to penn in Philly in case she can’t recover from this the last resort is a transplant. The doctors had said before it difficult to transplant lungs in someone like meghan because they don’t know what’s causing it to begin with. Even though she has improved a little she has to remain on the ECMO for a while. They said it could be a week, weeks or longer. There’s no way to tell right now. The doctors told us it’s a long road ahead. It’s could be months before she’s out of the hospital. They just can’t say now. She had gone through more in her 18 years than most people go through in a lifetime. This money would be for travel expenses to and from Philly and to help out because mom and dad may not be able to work full time for awhile so please help even if it’s a little. I really want to help out my friend and take any weight off her shoulders as she has enough stress. Please also keep them in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
