Moose's Surgery & Recovery
Donation protected
Our loving dog, Moose, severely fractured both of his front legs. My husband, Moose & I were sitting outside enjoying the weather and a fox approached us. The fox walked within 2 feet of us and was just staring at us. When Moose realized how close the fox was, he instinctly started chasing it to protect us. Needless to say we were calling Moose to stop him and the next thing we know we heard Moose screaming crying & rolling around on the ground. We brought him to North Star Animal Hospital in Robbinsville, NJ to find out that he needed surgery in order to ever walk again. The doctors truly believe he will fully recover and live a normal life. Moose will be turning 6 on June 16th, how can we not go through with the surgery when he still has so much of his life left ahead of him. Between the 2 surgery (which includes 2 plates, at least 18 screws and 4 wires to put both of his legs back together), hospital stay, medicine, rehab, X-rays & everything else we are looking at over a $50,000 bill. We have two daughters that we need to think about. Every penny of our income goes to our girls for food, clothes, house, and bills. We were seriously thinking about not doing the surgery because we cannot afford it. Moose is a part of our family and we all love him dearly, so doing the surgery was our only option. We hope GoFundMe can help our family with this! Our daughters, my husband & I miss his so much and can't wait for him to get home. We are praying for a quick, painless, full recovery. We truly appreciate any help anyone can provide for our family! Thank you.

Moose unfortunately had a set back. 2 screws came loose on his right elbow. He had his 3rd surgery today. Now moose has screws and pins going threw his elbow attached to a brace around his right leg. We are hoping we will be allowed to visit him tomorrow. He is still in the icu.
Now we received another phone call this morning that the screw in the left leg is curved. They have to do yet another surgery. Our hearts is aching.

We found out that Moose has infections on both his legs. We are very upset with this set back. He is on multiple antibiotics that will hopefully help with this.
Got to visit Moose today and he stood on his own any took a few steps by himself! We were all so proud of him!

Moose is still trying to fight off these infections. We visit him everyday and take him outside to remind him what he is fighting for.
