Bring Destry Home

Donation protected
Destry was a father, a son, a big brother, and an uncle. On 14 November, he was hit by a car in Tres Piedras near Taos, New Mexico. He died there in the road. He had no family near. Now we need to bring him home and figure out the next steps. We need to finish this. His sisters Dorothy and Mandi are organizing funds for his arrangements.

Destry touched people in a very unique way. He never hated anyone, and he was always smiling.  He gathered life long friends as he traveled the US for years. He searched for love, for acceptance,  and for causes worth fighting for. He gave all his heart and soul to wherever it was needed.  He wandered. He stood at Standing Rock with the Water Protectors, toured with the Grateful Dead as a teenager,  went to college in the Redwoods, drummed his Djembe all over the beaches of the west coast, and many more adventures we'll probably never know. He was born in an era which was both too far behind him and too far ahead of him at the same time.

He gave his heart to two sons and searched a lifetime for a place of peace to settle down with a family. He lived life his way.  Those who crossed his path knew him immediately because of his heart sitting right there on his sleeve.  Words such as  "kind soul", "earth son" "warrior", "sacred stone",  are all over his Facebook from his friends.  To me he was my big brother.  He who would give anything he had if it was needed by another. He could bring a smile to anyone's face just by showing up, he had love for the earth as well as his fellow man. He was an old soul.

My mother has lost her first born, and only son. She needs closure, so does his father, his boys, his sisters, his uncles, aunts, his nieces and his nephews.  His friends which have called him family since they were teenagers. His people need closure.

Our family does not have the means to do everything that needs to be done. His body and his belongings are a nine hour drive away. Funeral options are beyond our means and the financial burden is unimaginable in current conditions. The only option is to have him cremated at the funeral home there and bring him home to us to celebrate his life. We need to cover anything we can but mostly we need to cover the cost of his cremation. The cost of the trip, hotel stays, truck rental for his stuff.  Please anything y'all can do is so very much appreciated, even if y'all can't donate prayers and sharing would be great. Please help me bring my brother home so that my mother doesn't have to worry and his family can have the closure they need.
