Joe Fredrickson has finally realized his dream of owning a brewery. After years of brewing and providing equipment to the Industry, Joe purchased the old Electric Dave’s Brewing in Bisbee Arizona. Electric Dave’s opened in 1988 and was one of the first craft breweries in Arizona. In the early days of the brewery Joe was the assistant brewer.
Unfortunately the equipment and the location were in far worse shape than he anticipated so much of his start up money went to getting the equipment up to snuff. Despite all this, and the fact that they purchased the brewery just before the pandemic hit, Joe and his wife Natalie managed to open the brewery.
Joe has been producing beer for the tap room on his pilot system at 10 to 15 gallons a pop. This has meant a lot more time brewing than he originally anticipated.
Joe finally got his main system which is a 50 barrel brewhouse and a 30 bbl fermenter up and running. Unfortunately there were still some kinks in the system and his first 15 bbl batch ended up being a drain pour. He’s now got his system up and running and will be kegging his first large batch today.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide capital for ingredients so that he can brew a few more large batches to generate some cash flow.
Joe and Natalie are some of the nicest and most genuine people I know. I have known Nat since high school and Joe since college. They really deserve this break and I can guarantee the beer community will be better off having Joe at the helm of the revamped Electric Brewing.
