On May the 5th, 2016 Brian was taken to the hospital because he was very sick. A short time after them being there it was discovered that he was severely septic and was placed in the ICU at Biloxi Merit Hospital. The doctors said that he aquired a blood infection from dealing with Oysters at his job as a siou chef. Not only was it a blood infection but it was also an infection around his heart, which has also lead to liver issues and his Kidneys only working at about a 10%.
He now has been taken to New Orleans where he has developed a very large blood clot in his right leg and also has a very large hole in his heart valve, but they can't operate because he is to critical and would not make it through surgery.
He has also had a stroke which has caused blindness in his right eye, and a brain bleed. He is extremely malnourished and now has a lot of fluid on his lungs. Very few options are available at this time so he is now on total life support along with a ballon pump. The doctors will re-evaluate in a couple of days to see if he's made any progress and then discuss where to go from there! He was their only income. Ashley, his wife (Ashley Miller),  is driving from Gulfport to New Orleans but pretty much living at the hospital.
