Katie's Multi-Organ failure
Donation protected
Say hello to the Silima family. David 32, Katie 27 and David Jr 7 months. In February 2019 Katie had a liver transplant after waiting several years to receive a donor. The surgery was a success and they had a healthy baby boy shortly after. Unfortunately, on November 3rd, Katie was admitted to UWMC (for the second time this year) for acute liver failure which led to multi-organ failure, which was likely due to the progressive rejection of her liver transplant. She needed dialysis, blood transfusions, vascular surgery for a misplaced IV, and received a stent in her bile duct. Because of this critical illness Katie has lost the baby she was carrying. She has since been released from the hospital and is at home healing, emotionally and physically.
We are asking for help covering the past two hospital stays that Katie has had for her Liver Failure this year. While Katie is at home recovering David is working a full-time job to support his family and this would give this young couple the opportunity to get out from under some medical debt. The goal is to get the medical bills in collections paid off, and to help get some payments up to date. We would like to gift this family with one less burden. We understand these are hard times for everyone and we are so grateful for you just taking the time to read this.
