Tonester Paints is a local artist based in Athens, Ohio and makes paint mixing content for Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube. He used to work at a paint store and recongized that users were enjoying and engaging with his paint content. He had developed a buisness plan to show his marketing department how they could develop brand awareness through these channels. Once he made the plan, the VP of Marketing had told him there was no need for him to see the presentation at the time. Tonester Paints then started purchasing his own paint and contunied to use creative ways to engage his audience. A few months later, Loss Prevention of the company fired him for “Gross Misconduct” because people were calling customer service to ask about his videos. After he had been fired, he made a studio in his friends basement to keep making the paint videos and his working on developing his own brand.
