Active Military Family House Fire
Donation protected
On this Memorial Day 2016 one of our very own active military families has come home to great devastation- their home on fire.
Looking at this picture, you can see the extreme joy of Sara, Brennan, and Samantha Winn as they welcome Brandon home after his military deployment. While this was not his first deployment and is not likely to be his last, the Winn family is one of those proud American families who sacrifices their personal wants and desires so that we can all enjoy the wonderful freedoms we have daily in America.
It is with great sadness that they now, only 8 short months of being together again as a family in their own home, are displaced from that very home due to a house fire on Memorial Day.
Though they have lost material items and the very roof that they know as home, they are able to rejoice in knowing that they have each other. No one in the family, including their beloved pets, was home at the time of the fire. It was a surprise scence that they drove up to when coming back from a beautiful family vacation. Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles surrounded the house that they were so eagerly coming back to.
Not being able to go near the site to see what was salvageable is a horrible feeling and knowing that the cremated remains of Patrick Bouillion, Sara's father, a beloved math teacher of many years was the posession everyone longed for. After a seemingly tireless wait, the word came from the wonderful emergency crews that the wooden urn was intact. Again, a wonderful sign that there is indeed hope even when there seems like all is lost.
Please consider donating to the Winn family and help them continue to know that there is hope in the world, help them understand that we can come together to support each other in times of need, help them to know appreciate that on this wonderful Memorial Day 2016 we thank them for their many sacrifices and are now here in some small way saying "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE."
