Help Helena Heal

On March 16th, our mom Helena went in for a somewhat routine back fusion surgery. After a month of recovery time, she was still having severe muscle spasms and pain and was admitted back into the hospital only to find that there were complications from the initial surgery. This resulted in 2 additional surgeries. Doctors found that her bones were not strong enough to hold hardware in place and have told her that she may never heal 100%. Since then, she has been in the hospital and a live-in rehabilitation center in an effort to get her to heal and walk on her own. Because doctors were unable to fully fix the issue, recovery has been awful . She has difficulty walking and moving around on her own, even with the use of a walker and is in a great deal of pain. Because of this, she requires 24/7 care. Her insurance company will no longer pay for her stay at the rehabilitation center or hospital and she has been forced to go home. Her primary care taker is our dad Al who will exhaust his available medical leave time in about a month, leaving no one to care for her while he is at work. Her insurance company will not pay for in home health care. In addition, medical bills and other expenses such as bed rental, medication, and other medical supplies are piling up.

We would like to help them in any way possible. Money can be used to find someone to come and help care for my mom, bills, and monthly medical expenses.
