Isaiah's Open Heart Surgery

Donation protected
This is our Park Ridge Elementary school counselor, Tyler and wife Carrie Lynn Wasson's 6-month old son, Isaiah Michael.

By a miracle of excellent midwifery care, a heart arrhythmia was detected at Carrie Lynn's 33rd week prenatal visit.  She was referred to a pediatric cardiologist the following morning, and after an echocardiogram, Baby Wasson was thought to have a congenital heart defect (CHD) called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA).

Mid-November 2015, he was delivered c-section and TGA-L (the rare form of this heart defect) was diagnosed.  Before he was a week old, Dad, mom and Baby Ike flew to California to have the first of his two open heart surgeries.

The Wasson family is scheduled to head back to Lucile Packard’s Children’s Hospital at Stanford in July 2016 for Baby Isaiah’s second major open heart surgery.  They are preparing to be in California for 2-4 weeks for preop, surgery and post-op recovery.

Any financial help for medical costs, other ancillary expenses of the surgery (travel, lodging, food, help with their 24 month old, loss of income due to extended work absence [mother], etc.) would be humbly received and greatly appreciated by the family.
