Curing Conrad
Many family and friends have asked how they can help support Conrad and Kelly. Our family set up this account to help cover Conrad's medical and living expenses during their journey to recovery. No contribution is too small, and all are appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.
An update from Conrad and Kelly:
In mid April 2016, Conrad started thinking about camping season. Usually, this is his favorite activity, but due to some extremely uncomfortable & embarrassing pain while going to the bathroom, he was not looking forward to it and decided to seek medical help.
A colonoscopy revealed a 7 cm tumor. Soon after, a CT scan revealed that it had metastasized (or spread) to his liver. Then, if that wasn't enough, a PET scan revealed something abnormal in his head. This had us rushing back in to have an MRI. A few days later, we were told it was a lesion on the right frontal lobe of his brain. Uh, what? Is this all really happening right now?
With the help of some great friends and co-workers, we found an amazing oncologist, Dr. Gold and a neurologist, Dr. Cobbs. His brain took priority and surgery was performed. Thankfully, the lesion is not cancerous. It is a low-grade glioma that does not and should not affect him in any way. To be sure, it will be scanned every 3 months to make sure it does not grow or change in any way. Ah, a little relief.
Now we can start Chemo for the other 2 tumors. After about 2 months of Chemo, radiation and surgery will come in to play. It is all overwhelming, extremely exhausting, and of course your whole life is flipped upside down.
We are very fortunate though. Our amazing family & friends have been 100% supportive and we couldn't imagine getting through this without them all. Thank you to everyone for sharing the love!
We know he will beat this with all of you behind us.
