I am a 43 year old single mother of 2 wonderful sons. In 2009, I found a lump in my left breast. That lump turned out to be stage 4 breast cancer. After surgery to remove the breast, I received 16 rounds of chemotherapy. I finished chemo in late 2010. At the end of 2010, I was cleared by my doctors to return to work. Chemotherapy took a toll on my body, but it saved my life. At the time, I had minimal insurance and incurred huge medical bills that I could not pay.
In January 2011, my aunt, passed away from cancer. In August 2011, my mother passed away from internal organ failure. In October 2011, my spouse of 6 years, who saw me through my cancer battle passed away also from internal organ failure.
Going back to work at KMart was a godsend to me. I was able to support my 2 boys and maintain a fairly normal life, given my losses. I worked there until 2016, when I, once again, have been dignosed as having breast cancer in my remaining right breast. At the time this story is being written, I have not been advised of the stage of my current cancer condition. I have minimal insurance from KMart and am in need of any assistance I can get. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and will be forever grateful for any help you can afford me. Heather Paquin
