Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by the page! My sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Nick Ross, had their first child, Nolan, on April 5, 2016. What should be an exciting time for them, is a long journey ahead. Before birth, Nolan was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects, Aortic Valve Stenosis and Coarctation of the Aorta. It was thought to be a mild defect of both, but has turned into three surguries thus far for the precious 7 week old baby boy! His first surgey was a temporary fix for his conditions until his heart grew bigger and stronger for a permanent fix. A couple weeks after the first surgery, Nolan developed some slight complications and went in for another surgery (which was sooner than anticipated) to fix Aortic Valve Stenosis. For this procedure, Nolan was put on a heart and lung machine to remove extra tissue under his aortic valve. Being the strong, little fighter that he is, Nolan has been pushing through like a champ despite hiccups with some blood clots. Last week it was discovered that Nolan had developed Chylothorax and went in for this third surgery immediately the next day for Thoracic Duct Ligation. Again, like a strong, little fighter, Nolan is recovering great but still has a long road ahead of him. He has been hospitalized since birth, and still has, at the least, one surgery ahead of him. His timeline to go home is still uncertain, but when this time comes, the new parents need to focus on him and catching up for the lost time and not have to worry about all of the medical bills for their sweet baby boy. Amanda was on maternity leave from her job, but made the tough decision to leave her position in order to be with her son. Any amount you could offer would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, your prayers are greatly appreciated and just as important. Please help Amanda and Nick comfortably bring Nolan home once that time comes!! Thank you!
