Our sweet Molly was found unresponsive in her bedroom Sunday evening at 11 pm by her roommate.
911 was called and she was taken by ambulance to the Quincy Valley Hospital ER.
Following a thorough evaluation of her unresponsive condition she was intubated for weakened respiration. It was determined by the QV Medical Team Molly was in critical condition due to a substantial brain bleed. Quincy Medical Center requested airlifting Molly to Harborview Medical Center where she underwent emergency Neurosurgery at 6 a.m. Monday to remove a blood clot and sizeable brain bleed.
Molly remained unresponsive and intubated.
On Tuesday the surgical team requested a 2nd surgery to remove residual blood. Small strokes were also discovered. Her condition remains critical in the ICU.
On Wednesday she showed signs of consciousness by squeezing the nurses hand and wiggling her toes. Her right eye opened and she tried to say a word or two. We are encouraged that her brain is active.
She has a long way to go and we are unsure of how much damage has been done to her brain. She still is unresponsive on her left side. We are thankful for all the prayers and well wishes from so many people. We are concerned about the time it will take for her full recovery and the financial situation we face. We are not ones to look for charity, but in this case we want the best for our daughter. She is such a beautiful person and we hope we will see that again. If you feel so moved we appreciate any help you can offer. God is in this circumstance and we believes His power is great. God Bless you all for the love and caring you have shown our family.
